MICRONEEDLING MUNICH

NEEDLES TO SUPPORT THE BODY'S OWN COLLAGEN SYNTHESIS

Microneedling has become the talk of the town in recent years and it is hard to imagine minimally invasive aesthetic medicine without it. It can be started at any age. Microneedling is suitable for prevention, but also for certain indications. Lasting results make this procedure a firm favorite among aesthetic skin procedures.

THE BOOSTER FOR COLLAGEN

Small needles with a depth of 1.5 to 2 mm perforate the top layer of the skin and trigger small micro traumas, thus stimulating the body's own collagen synthesis. Both collagen and elastin are structural proteins that give the skin its tone and firmness. The skin gets the chance to boost its collagen build-up and thus become firmer again.

Before the treatment, a numbing cream is applied to the area to be treated and is then usually well tolerated. During Microneedling, an active ingredient concentrate selected according to the treatment objective is applied and thus worked deeper into the skin. The treatment is not limited to the facial area, but can also be applied to the neck and décolleté area, hands, arms and legs. The treatment is suitable for all ages and for women and men alike.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT MICRONEEDLING

Why Microneedling?

Microneedling in my medical practice in Munich - Bogenhausen has a rejuvenating effect on your skin. Your skin texture can be visibly improved by refining the appearance of pores and stimulating collagen and elastin synthesis. This procedure is ideal for both aging and blemished skin - a guarantee for fresh, radiant skin. It offers a way to visibly refine the skin's appearance and naturally reduce wrinkles.

How does Microneedling work?

With the help of small needles 1.5 to 2 mm long, small "injuries" are inflicted on the skin. This initiates healing processes that ultimately lead to an increase in the skin's own collagen and elastin synthesis. This makes the skin firmer and more elastic again. Nothing else but the self-healing power of the skin is activated by the treatment and thus leads to a renewal of the tissue. It is therefore a natural process. Due to these small skin injuries, the formation of fibroblasts is stimulated in the tissue, which in turn are an important building block of collagen and elastin. Your skin can be rejuvenated by this process. The deeper your skin is needled, the more serious the results of the treatment will be.

Why should Medical Microneedling take place in a doctor's office?

Nowadays, Microneedling is often offered in beauty salons. In my opinion, however, medical Microneedling belongs in the hands of a doctor with medical expertise. There are different levels of effectiveness of Microneedling, depending on the length of the needle. For example, a distinction is made between cosmetic and medical needling. With medical needling, the penetration depth is up to 2mm and therefore the effect is deeper. In my practice in Munich, I only use medical Microneedling and this has a lasting effects on your wrinkles or in a scar treatment. It is also important to carry out an exact medical skin analysis beforehand and to assess and discuss any risks. The hygiene standards of a medical practice should also be available to guarantee low-risk work.

Can Microneedling be combined with other procedures?

To intensify the effect, I combine Microneedling with special combinations of active ingredients during the session, specifically tailored to your treatment goal. Another possible combination is "Micro-Botox", which aims to reduce enlarged pores or oily skin. Medical Microneedling can also be combined with all other procedures offered in my practice. The procedure is very suitable for both men and women and is especially recommended for men because of its natural results.

How does a Medical Microneedling session work and is it painful?

After a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the treatment area, a pain-relieving cream is applied. This usually allows my patients to tolerate the treatment well. The session lasts about 20 to 30 minutes. After the treatment, a cooling, soothing serum is applied to the skin. In the days following the treatment, please ensure that the treated skin area is adequately protected against the sun with at least SPF 30.

Are you socially acceptable after a Microneedling?

Especially after a medical Microneedling with deeper penetration of the needles, redness, swelling and small bruises may occur. It often feels as if you have a sunburn. However, these symptoms usually disappear after 1 to 2 days. You should avoid wearing make-up immediately after the treatment, but it can be reapplied the next day without any problems. I also recommend avoiding saunas, solariums and direct sunlight for a few days. I advise my patients to take these recommendations into account when planning their treatment. Of course, I am at your disposal for any further questions.

When should you not do Microneedling?

Microneedling should not be performed on inflamed skin. There should be no herpes, no pustules or wounds, no sunburn or any other acute infections or injuries. It is also better to avoid treatment of active acne, couperose or rosacea. You are welcome to consult me about this. Microneedling should not be performed on pregnant women or when breastfeeding. The same applies if you are taking antibiotics from the amino-glycoside group at the same time or if you have a general intolerance to hyaluronic acid, if you have a coagulation disorder or if you have been taking ASA or Marcumar for a long time.

How often is Microneedling done and how long does it last?

From my experience, I recommend a series of 3 to 5 treatments at intervals of about 4 weeks for optimal results. The result of the treatment series lasts approx. 6 to 8 months and should ideally be repeated afterwards in order to be able to permanently maintain and stabilize the results. If I recommend a treatment series of 4 sessions, the total price of the individual session is noticeably reduced. Please feel free to contact me at any time!

Is there anything to keep in mind after the Microneedling treatment?

Please refrain from sports, sauna and solarium for one week after the treatment. Avoid direct sunlight. Wearing sunscreen in the treatment area is recommended. Make-up may be reapplied on the day of the treatment. Please do not massage the treated area directly after the treatment.
